This car was super tuned and the motor ran very strong turning over 300HP on a chassis Dyno using only pump gas. It idles very smooth at only 900 RPM's with the initial advance set at 6 degrees BTDC. The exhaust headers were ceramic coated by QC coatings with real silver powder flowing thru 2-1/2" MIG welded Flowmaster exhaust system. The subframe was restored with meticulous detail given to all parts and components including the braking and steering systems and all correct plating and proper inspection marks where required as to 1969 factory assembly line practices. The 302 DZ engine received a fresh coat of Chevrolet orange paint once the blueprinted "140" off-road racing camshaft was installed. The Muncie M22 (rockcrusher) transmission and 4:10 Positraction both received complete rebuilds and restored to show quality appearance. The M22 rebuild included replacing the input shaft and 2nd speed gear with new NOS Borg Warner gears. The original shifter was also rebuilt and replated to show quality. This Z28 camaro looks, runs, drives and shifts out as well as it would have back in 1969 fresh off the Chevrolet dealer showroom floor with the added kick of the crossram unit. The camaro is currectly in Arizona and was sold in Jan 2004 for a record setting price at the praised Russo and Steele auction.
